Education and competence

Bergen is a major education center with more than 35.000 students and employees, and with a world class research environment. We aim to:

* Develop Western Norway as a prominent region of expertise

* Improve the collaboration between the university, university colleges, research and industry, to ensure that the education sector provides the skills that the industry needs

* Learning from experience, in which we learn from previous crises to prevent new ones, by reviewing the five-year program ‘Crisis, adjustment and growth’ from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration

* Establish a civil engineer program at the Bergen University College

* Strengthen the apprentice education programs to ensure skilled workers for the trades industries.
